  • Is Ivory Coast ready for a gas pipeline?
  • Ivory Coast is home to several planned pipeline developments set to facilitate its integration with the wider region. The country is one of 13 African nations through which the planned Morocco-Nigeria Gas Pipeline will run, establishing West Africa as Europe¡¯s premier energy trading partner and providing an export route for future gas production.
  • Can rapeseed oil be used as a carbon storage opportunity?
  • Allocated to refined oil, this carbon storage opportunity gain corresponds to a 0.46 kg CO 2e reduction in life cycle emissions per kg rapeseed oil produced in this system (Fig. 4 c).
  • Will Ivory Coast become a major oil producer?
  • In recent years, Ivory Coast has also upgraded its state-owned Société ivoirienne de raffinage refinery to enable the production of low-sulfur fuels leveraging new technologies. Ivory Coast is aiming to become a major oil producer in the near-term future, as it yields new deepwater discoveries and unlocks cutting-edge net-zero technologies.
  • Does ice oil & gas have a production sharing agreement with Petroci?
  • Ice Oil & Gas signed a production sharing agreement (PSA) with Ivory Coast¡¯s national oil company Petroci for offshore block CI-705 in November 2023. The block spans 2289 km2 in the Grand Lahou area. The PSA grants Ice Oil & Gas a seven-year exploration period with a commitment to invest at least US$40 million in hydrocarbon exploration.
  • How much CO2 does rapeseed produce?
  • Land use emissions from other rapeseed production systems ranged from 0.90 to 4.91 kg CO 2e per kg refined oil (Fig. 4 c; Supplementary Data 12), whilst sunflower land use emissions fell within a similar range from 0.99 to 6.90 kg CO 2e per kg refined oil (Fig. 4 d; Supplementary Data 13).
  • How much oil does Ivory Coast produce a day?
  • Though Ivory Coast currently produces 30,000 barrels per day ¨C owing to the Baleine discovery that was fast-tracked into production last August ¨C additional offshore discoveries and regional pipeline projects signal significant development potential, particularly in deepwater acreage.
