New processing plant to open at Stolthaven Dagenham
Stolthaven Terminals is partnering with cooking oil supplier and collector, Olleco, to build a state-of-the-art used cooking oil (UCO) processing plant at its Dagenham facility in the UK. Stolthaven Dagenham has allocated land to Olleco to build the facility, which will process UCO collected from restaurants and food production sites.
The potential of households’ used cooking oil (UCO) recycling for biodiesel production is massive. This study aims to promote the shift from UCO inappropriate disposal to sustainable recycling. UCO is classified as municipal waste under the code 20 01 25 (edible oils and fats), according to the European Waste Catalogue. Inappropriate UCO disposal increases the operating cost of wastewater

A Comparative Evaluation of Biodiesel and Used Cooking Oil as
UCO is produced when vegetable oils sourced from palm, soybean, sunflower, cottonseed, olive, palm kernel, and rapeseed or animal fats like butter, fish oil, and tallow, are used for cooking or frying food . With feedstock accounting for between 80% and 85% of the production cost of biodiesel, the use of UCO can result in a substantial
Used cooking oil, known as UCO, is a waste vegetable oil from food manufacturers, restaurants, catering facilities and kitchens in schools, hospitals or households. UCO can be used to produce several types of renewable and sustainable fuel, via different pathways. The four fuel types that are currently often considered are: UCOME “Biodiesel”

UCO Processing Unit |Bio-diesel Oil Pre-Treatment Filtration
This unit is especially applied to remove water, gases and particulates from waste cooking oils, vegetable oils, palm oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower seed oil, olive oil, peanut oil coconut oil, etc, so to purify used cooking oil and improve the oil quality.
The used oil sample will be bought in big batches for easy convenience to transport. We took both used sunflower oil and coconut oil separately. The collected used oil then labelled for easy detection on Figure 1 (Used Cooking Oil (UCO)) Filtration Of UCO The collected used oil samples needed to be filtered as it

Hazard assessment during the production of biodiesel from
Hatzisymeon, Kamenopoulos, Tsoutsos, “Risk Assessment of the life-cycle of the Used Cooking Oil-to-biodiesel supply chain", Journal of Cleaner Production, Vol. 217, pp 836- 843, 2019, preprint
1. INTRODUCTION Used Cooking Oils (UCOs) are oils and fats that have been used for cooking or frying in the food processing industry, restaurants, fast foods and at a consumer level, in household; UCO can originate from both vegetable and animal fats and oils; they can be collected and recycled for other uses.
