Redressing the oil refining balance in Saudi Arabia, MEED
It is not that the state-owned oil major Saudi Aramco has a lack of capacity. The oil giant currently has a global refining capability of more than 4 million barrels a day (b/d) of crude oil. What is lacking is the capacity to produce large amounts of more complex refined goods, such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the short-run and long-run relationship between liquefied petroleum gas Consumption (LPGC), natural gas consumption (NGC), other refined products consumption (ORPC), carbon dioxide emissions (CO2), and gross domestic product (GDP) in Saudi Arabia, from 1970 to 2021.

Saudi Arabia, Oil Gas & Petrochemicals
From this data, Aramco calculates an IKTVA ratio that approximates the percent of Aramco’s spend with you that remains in Saudi Arabia or develops Saudi Arabia’s supply chain and capabilities. IKTVA is assessed against the following factors: Localized goods and services; Salaries paid to Saudis; Training and development of Saudis
It will use existing Saudi Aramco facilities to receive crude oil and export refined products. The project’s projected completion date is 2014. 06 Jubail Capacity: 400 000 bpd Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia Operator: Saudi Aramco. Very early on, the Chinese refined crude oil. Many texts mention the use of petroleum-based products as lubricants. More than one thousand years ago, oil fields were already being exploited in the Baku region (which was the main oil production region at the beginning of the intensive exploitation era, during the Russian Tsar’s empire in 1900).
- How many refined products are produced in Saudi Arabia?
- In 2018, Saudi Arabia produced 1,028.3 MMb of refined products. This represented a 1.9% fall from 2017. Diesel was the most refined product at 392 MMbd, followed by gasoline and fuel oil at 199 MMb. Oil refinery throughput reached 2.7 MMb/d in 2018, which accounted for 3% of global refinery throughput and 47% of all GCC oil refinery throughput.
- How many oil refineries does Saudi Arabia have?
- Saudi Arabia has nine main oil refineries located in various regions, with a total capacity of around 3 MMb. Saudi Aramco is responsible for refining oil and distributing it. It has also been integrating its oil refineries with petrochemical facilities.
