Energy efficiency improvement in oil refineries through flare
The flare gas recovery allows the refinery to achieve economic saving in the plant's operations. In order to quantify the saving, the analysis on the average LHV of the flare gas was carried on. During the chemical analysis, asides from inert gases and hydrogen sulphide, also the value of the LHV flare gas was evaluated.
Inefficient refineries can reduce their own energy consumption by as much as 30% through more efficient technological, energy and organisational solutions. This can be illustrated as follows: a refinery, which accounts for 5% of the energy consumption of crude oil, has to work 16 days a year to meet its own energy requirements. Energy savings

Small Scale Edible Oil Refinery Plant
This batch-type oil refinery plant is the best choice for small edible oil plants. The capacity ranges from 1 TPD to 10 TPD. It can process almost all the edible oil. The oil refining equipment can work independently or combine with the entire edible oil production line.
Installation of inverters and LED lights yielded electrical energy savings of 2.5%. and 20% in the dry fractionation plant. The refinery has stopped relying on fuel oil and started using

Energy and Exergy Analysis of a Vegetable Oil Refinery
Energy and exergy analysis was conducted for a vegetable oil refinery in the Southwest of Nigeria. The plant, powered by two boilers and a 500 kVA generator, refines 100 tonnes of crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) into edible vegetable oil per day. The production system consists of four main group operations: neutralizer, bleacher, filter, and

- Where can I find a sourcebook for oil refining industry?
- A Sourcebook for Industry. Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Industrial Technologies Program, U.S. Department of Energy, Washington, DC. DOE/GO-102006-2079. U.S. DOE-OIT, 2007. Energy and Environmental Profile of the U.S. Petroleum Refining Industry, Office of Industrial Technologies, U.S. Department of Energy, Washington, DC.
- How can oil refinery technology improve the efficiency of oil preparation and refining?
- In addition, the design of the main assemblies and apparatuses of refinery units is constantly being improved and the heat recovery scheme of technological streams is being optimized. All this makes it possible to increase the efficiency of oil preparation and refining processes.
- Do crude oil refineries need process heat and heat integration systems?
- Crude oil refineries require a large amount of energy to operate. Process heat and heat integration systems have been the most considerable technologies in chemical plants and crude oil refineries in the past three decades, with significant advances in that area (Vasiliev, Ulyev, and Boldyryev 2018).
- Can petroleum refineries reduce energy consumption?
- A wide variety of opportunities exist within petroleum refineries to reduce energy consumption, while maintaining or enhancing plant productivity, as evidenced by studies from several companies in the petroleum refining and petrochemical industries.
- When did a refining plant start production in the Middle East?
- A refining plant in the Middle East began official production in 2020 to produce strategic products. After production stabilization, the plant operators decided to implement energy optimization. While the refining plant utilizes a large number of units, only four units were selected for optimization.
- What is the most used process in a refinery plant?
- The most used process in these plants is the modified Claus process , , , , , . A refinery column in the Middle East began official production in 2020. This refinery plant is designed to convert heavy intermediate products of low economic value into middle distillates of high economic value.
