Ivory Coast: new contract for 200 TPD refining
It also represents a major transformation activity either in red oil (1st transformation) or in refined oil (2nd transformation). About 45% of the production is exported to neighboring countries. But while on average, sub-Saharan Africa imports 59% of its palm oil consumption, on its side Ivory Coast imports only 11% of its demand.
This is our 300 ton per day soybean oil solvent extraction line. Main process:Solvent-- Extractor--Mixed oil -- 1st and 2nd evaporation -- Stripping tower -...

Project Report On Soyabean Solvent Extraction Unit With
Soybean seeds contain 18% to 20% oil. Normally soya bean seeds are not subjected to mechanical pressing but the entire oil is extracted after preparation of the seeds in the solvent and Soybean Extraction Plant. Preparation of soya bean seeds includes seed cleaning, destoning, cracking, husk separation (if required), cooking, flaking, expanding and drying Oil extraction, isolation of oil from
The pretreated soybean flakes are sent to the soybean solvent extraction plant. The soybean oil extraction plant uses a kind of solvent (normal hexane) to absorb the oil from the soybean, and then the machines separate the solvent from soybean crude oil. The solvent can be recycled, and the soybean crude oil is refined by an oil refinery plant.

- How is oil extracted from soy flakes?
- During solvent extraction oil is removed from the soy flakes by an organic solvent to form an oil/solvent mixture called a miscella. The oil is recovered from the miscella by removing the solvent by steam stripping. Most commercial oil extraction is currently by hexane extraction, but other solvents have been considered.
- How hexane is used to extract soybean oil?
- However, efforts have been made to reduce the costs (Reverchon and Osseo 1994). Solvent extraction of soybeans is a diffusion process in which the solvent (hexane) selectively dissolves miscible oil components. During extraction, hexane solubi lizes soy oil from cotyledon lipid bodies in soy flakes rapidly, as soon as it enters the lipid body.
- What is modern soybean oil?
- Modern soy oil is a stable high quality triglyceride ingredient used widely in commercial processed foods. It is without other lipid contaminants and available at a reasonable cost. Modern soybean processing starts with solvent extraction to obtain crude oil and defatted meal.
- How does hexane solubi Lize soy oil?
- During extraction, hexane solubi lizes soy oil from cotyledon lipid bodies in soy flakes rapidly, as soon as it enters the lipid body. The slowest process is solvent diffusion into the flake and diffusion of the oillhexane miscella out.
- Is a soybean extruder a good investment?
- Some success has also been found by extruding soybeans at 10-14% moisture (Rittner 1984; Nelson et al. 1987). To summarize, the additional expense of an extruder can only be justified if there is a subsequent increase in extraction efficiency and oil quality (Kemper 1995).
- What are the sources of wastewater from soy oil processing?
- 1. Wastewater Control The sources of wastewater from soy oil processing are (I) process wastewater, which has been in contact with oil, (2) noncontact cooling water that is uncontami nated because it has been circulated in pipes, and (3) rainwater runoff, which may have been in contact with contaminated areas (Smallwood 1995).
